I'm going to flush mine this weekend. My brake lever pressure varies dependent on outside temperature. Brakes seem fine. Mine is a 2006 dual front caliper bike. Right now i'm also having issues with the brake lever not being pushed back far enough to turn my brake light off. The fluid level is fine. Could be Master Cylinder springs but i only have 15k on the bike. Any thoughts. Brake light switch functions fine.

Did your 883R get recalled for front master cylinder?
Mine started doing that the day before I received recall notice in the mail.

2005 Sportster XL1200R, XL883R Recall- HYDRAULIC:MASTER CYLINDER
Make : HARLEY DAVIDSON
Model : SPORTSTER 1200R, 883R
Year : 2005
Manufacturer : HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTOR COMPANY
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 06V201000
Mfr's Report Date : JUN 02, 2006
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 9506

Summary:
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FRONT MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY HAD BEEN BUILT WITH INADEQUATE LUBRICATION ON THE SECONDARY CUP. THIS COULD CAUSE THE SLIDING RESISTANCE OF THE PISTON TO BE EXCESSIVE, WHICH IN TURN COULD CAUSE THE RETURN OF THE PISTON TO BE SLOW UPON RELEASE OF THE BRAKE.

Consequence:
THE PISTON MAY NOT RETURN COMPLETELY. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT COULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH OR INJURIES.

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REBUILD THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 10, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HARLEY DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.

Notes:
HARLEY-DAVIDSON RECALL NO. 0125. CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION¿S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

I checked and no open recalls on my bike. I'll go buy a MC rebuild at the dealer Saturday and it will give me a chance to try out my new speed bleeders http://www.speedbleeder.com/ They take the hassle out of brake bleeding. Found them on a post on HD forums.
