Question 92' sporty ignition?

I'm looking for a new ignition for my 1200, I would like to have a single fire, with a progressive spark advance, so I can drop the "PITA" VOES. Anybody have any recommendations about some you've had good luck with?

You're still going to have to run the VOES if you want the best curve. Without it, there is really no way to differentiate between high and low vacuum loads on a carb'd bike.

Well I was afraid of that, but I still could use a new one the one I have now is way too aggressive unless I'm wot, if I'm wot its all gravy but other wise, spark nock during slight roll ons, I've even knocked my initial timing down several degrees, plus my ignition is non adjustable with an 8000 rev limit, which is way too high!

I'm thinking about the dyna2000i, because my main problem is pinging, my ignition curve is too steep, and I've already adjusted the voes, and retarded my initial timing several degrees. So now I'm thinking a custom curve would work the best for my sporty. Anybody got any input, anyone run a dyna2000i?? Just looking for a lil insight on the situation.

how much compression do you have ??
reason I ask is my 91 had right at 195 when I put the 1200 pistons in it with 883 heads. same problem you have ..
after I added a little CC's to the head it got better,
added a little more cc's , and wound up with about 180 lbs cranking compression .

all has been well ...
btw, did not notice any decrease in power , actually smoother to ride,
easy to start ..
when I had the higher compression it actually sheared the rivets off the clutch basket, along with the starter drive.
just a thought
