Default Hella H4 lamp

So I just got my Hella H4 lamp delivered
HELLA 002850001 135mm 60/55 Watt H4 Type Single High/Low Beam Headlamp : Amazon.com : Automotive HELLA 002850001 135mm 60/55 Watt H4 Type Single High/Low Beam Headlamp : Amazon.com : Automotive
Will give it a try as cheap option before dropping $400 to LED from HD.
I've read multiple posts from people using it, and recommending 100/80 bulb (+ upgraded socket), compare to 60/55 one. However, those were posts from BT owners. I'm not sure if Iron 883 electrical system can handle that. Does anyone here run Hella H4 & 100/80 setup?
I'm going to take pictures of before/after upgrade.. Hope there will be a difference

Hi izhd, my GF has been running a 100/80 on her 2009 Sporty for about 3yrs now. The original bulb was like a old candle, it was bad. I was originally concerned about it getting too warm and melting but all this time on and it's fine with the original socket. (Maybe I should check it 3yrs on)
I can't see the UK model being different than the US electrical system?

Try it, it's a massive improvement.

Interested in hearing your opinion on the new bulb. I had one on my old RD400 and I recall it being a sure improvement over the stock bulb.

$28 sure beats the hell out of $400 if it's somewhat better than stock. The LED can't be 14 times better than the H4, pricewise, can it?

That was exactly my thinking. Plus a lot of people were saying they had to get passing lamps, and that brought it to more than 1k (the light is great by the way in this configuration)

Thanks! I figured I'd try 60/55 and then will get new connector +100/80

Will this fit all model sporties, have an 09 low. And did you buy the bulbs separately.

If you have a sealed beam headlight, it should work fine. There is no bulb to replace, the entire headlamp is replaced. 5.25" if I recall correctly.

Isn't that basically the same as the stock 60w/55w H4 headlight?
