Default LED headlight alternative to HD's Daymaker?

I love HD's Daymaker. That thing is ridiculous. I ride mostly at night also. But I don't love its crazy price tag... $500 for a head light? Thats nuts.

Any one know of an alternatives, I like the size of the stock headlight. (not interested in 7inch lights.)

I've been thinking of designing a projector housing and retrofitting projectors, I've done it on the R6

I agree that it is expensive but I think it is worth the cost. You can find it for about $350 if you shop around online

Kuryakyn is no were near as good as the HD one. If you are going to short cut it save the cash and skip it

I have the Daymaker...in a word, awesome.
I live in Milwaukee, WI...the capital of HD and could not find a deal on the light at any dealer to save my life. As a matter of fact, most local dealers here charge MORE than MSRP for almost ALL parts...what a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!
The MSRP for that light for your bike is $399.95 in chrome or blacked out (check out HD's site..http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...11-67700043--1).
Tired of being ripped off by my "local" HD dealers, I searched for a better alternative.
That said, I have been buying parts from newcastlehd.com in Pennsylvania for quite some time now....
EVERY part is lower priced, most times much lower priced than any other dealer I could find.
They have an awesome parts lookup of in stock parts and when the part is not in stock, it is usually only a few days to get it anyway.
Even with their reasonable shipping costs, their prices are way below almost all other dealers.
They are also the best people that I know of to deal with.
Every step is confirmed, and even returns are a breeze, even if you ordered the wrong part...read, no restocking charges!!!
The price for the Daymaker is $329 to fit your Sporty....
Wherever you are getting the $500 price...well, they are just making a killing off of anyone buying parts from them.
I have a 2012 XL1200 Custom and have bought over $4000 of parts and accessories from NewCastleHD, and will never buy local again.

My mistake I did mean to put $400 not $500. If I can't find anything comparable for less I will eventually bite the bullet. The dealer here is Longhorn. They are known around DFW as being (if I'm not mistaken) the biggest dealer at least in north Texas. nd they do move a lot of bikes.

But I've had nothing but issues from the service department there. the first month I had this bike I only actually had it in my possession for about a week total. The rest of the time it was being repaired because they screwed up the steering lock install. (Thank God it didn't lock up on me on the ride home. I did 70 the whole way, wouldn't have been pretty.)

$329 is better, even with shipping its cheaper.
