I have an 86 1100 Liberty in mint condition. Recently i replaced the battery since then it seems as though my directionals have become real slow or non working. I have added a lot of chrome, new handle bars however have done nothing electrical at all. This has only occured since the battery change.

 

I guess its possible that the blinker module died around the same time as your battery swap.

I would check and replace the bulbs, clean the connections well, and if that doesn't solve the issue, start looking at the blinker module.
