Default tank is now done

When I first bought my bike I bought a stitched seat from lepara. I wanted to keep the theme going so I got my side covers painted a few months back. Finally got sick of looking at the big forty eight on the tank so I got the tank painted to match. Real happy with the way the tank came out.

Also switched out my big sucker ac for a SE heavy breather. Bike is running great with the heavy breather.
Not sure yet how I feel about the gas cap with the new paint. Suggestions welcome!

I kind of like the skull gas tank with that paint. Only other thing I would recommend is the pop up black gas cap.

Great look going look forward to what is coming next.

My buddy has one of the hd flush mount caps but its for a 3.3 gallon tank. I know they sell a different one for the 2.1 tanks. Would the one he has work on my tank or will the threads screw it up. I'd rather take that one than spend 80 on a new one

I think it all looks sweet. I actually like the way the gas cap looks with the accents underneath. How much did the airbrushing run you on the side covers if you don't mind me asking?

My vote is for a flush mount definitely, installed one on mine as soon as the new paint was finished up. I would think that all sportster models gas caps would be the same but can't say for sure. If your friend has one, I would just see if he cared if you could try it out to be sure on the fit.

Yeah I saw that a lot of people have the hd flush cap and I think it would look killer on my tank. Has anyone tried the after market ones? I know jp has one and there are others out there just not sure how good the quality is.
