Do you feel that even tho you own a Sporster that the other Harley owners higher up on the food chain( baggers ) have no respect for us Sportster owners.

I though of joining HOG and doing some poker runs this summer but from what I have read if its not a bagger your not really wanted. Where in the hell would you fit in, in a porker run, a stay 10 bike lenghts behind the big twins!

You'll probably get alot of beating a dead horse remarks on this one, because it has been beatin to death. And I tell you, I'm the only one in my club who rides a sporty, and I've been told what a good looking bike it is. Any one who really has a passion for bikes don't care what you ride. We are all still on the road with the crazies same as the BT's and metrics even. And guess what, back in the day, a big bike was a 1200. So don't sweat it......Joey

I just recently bought my first Harley, a Sportster XL883, but I've been riding bikes for over 35 years. I've known and ridden with a number of Harley riders in that time.

I also just recently joined this forum, and have only been visiting here for a few weeks. It seems like a lot of posts concern this topic. Enough already! I think that Sportster bashing is more common on internet forums than it is in the real world. If someone is worried about what people think of their ride, they must be pretty insecure. Either get over it or sell your bike.

A BT owner bashing a sporty is like a Suburban owner bashing a Corvette because it is small and rides rough. The answer to both is "lets go ride and I'll show you what it's made for".

I don't know about you, but I didn't buy mine to ride cross-country or go grocery shopping.

Sporties are the street fighters of the Motor Company's aircooled lineup. Have been since 1957. Anyone trash-talking one is not a HD enthusist and is ignorant of HD's history.
