Question Sporty Grips

I have aftermarket grips for my Sporty, I love them but realize they are not like the HD OEM grips. I know I must glue the left clutch grip, do I just butt-up the grip to the switch housing? The OEM grips actually are held by the housing & my aftermarkets will not fit inside (Large Lip). Also I had to order a throttle sleeve for the right side, do I glue the new grip onto the sleeve? ANY info will help, Thanx!

I didn't use glue. I used a few lines of silicon seal. And yes, I just " butt-up the grip to the switch housing". On both sides. They are holding fine, even in this heat.

You can do whatever you want with the left one. Just choose your route carefully if you ever wanna get the thing off. Right one, I slid my grip right onto the sleeve. But mine are rubber, probably different. You may as well glue it, should probably just change the sleeve with the grip later on anyway.

i used aquanet hairspray for the clutch side, and glue on the throttle side.

I also get a few oem grips, then cut the grip off and have a very very cheap throttle tube. that way i can just trash them when im done with the grip

I have rubber grips as well (Biltwell Kung-Fu's), and didn't need any glue. I cut off the stock grip and re-used the tube, and put both grips on by blowing air from my compressor between the grip and the bar/tube, they slid right on. They have been on for a year now, no problems.
