Default Bolt-On Chopper Kits

Hi,
I've been looking online at bolt-on chopper kits at www.seegercycle.comand www.chopper-kit-usa.com/

If you've put one of these on your Sportster I'd be very interested in your answers to the following:

1) Which kit did you use and why?

2) How hard is this to install? (I'm not much of a wrench beyond oil changes)

3) How stable is the ride and cornering compared to the stock setup?

Thanks,
Barry

I'm sorry. It may be just me but if you bolt it on it's not a chopper, it's a custom.

American Iron Magazine had a very good installation article on the Seeger kit a couple ofissues ago. The bike owner (female) was very pleased with the look and the ride wasbetter than stock....just took more room to turn around. The article said it would take about a weekend to convert, with basic tools (don't recall any special tools needed).

Oldfendergyuy has one and he likes it, I know a guy that has one on his sporty and he says it rides great, he loves it. It all depends on you really, they have solved the trail problem for you in their kit so no need to worry, but some think the lines of the bike don't look right. But the bike has only to please on person, and thats you! I think I wouldn't mind the 9 degree kit from AME because it don't show quite the rake difference in the neck and triple tree and gives you about the same rake as a wide glide. .......Joey

I have the one from chopper-kit-usa on my '02. Put 10,000 miles on it last year & had no problems. The ride is better than stock because of the increased wheel base. The only time you can reall tell it's raked, is when you are at really low speeds (ie: u-turns). Love it & would not change it.
