If you can stand flat footed from the seat, I would think sportster forwards will be fine. They aren't that far out there.

I guess it might be good to know why you hate the mids.
I have a 29" pant inseam and I went from mids on my Iron to forwards on my 48. Although my legs reached just fine, I felt like I was reaching more with my arms (33" sleeve), because my body was pivoting differently.

I'm 5'4" and i have stock forwards on my '07 1200C. I have 2-4 inches of room to move around with my feet and what not while i ride. You should have not problems with the stock harley forwards. If your like me you will find more concern with wanting to lower the bike then you will worry about the forwards.
Also riding on forwards for a while down a highway will make you wanna shift your riding position a little to stretch the legs. I find kicking my feet back onto the passenger pegs to be comforting from time to time. It puts you in a crotch rocket riding position. i only recommend this for a few minutes at a time and only while on the HWY as your controls are obviously not on the passenger pegs, lol.
