I think that louder pipes add incentive to wanting one brand over the other. But performance is also something I am looking for.

 

I'm buying the diesels from sikpipes here shortly and I was curious to what map you run on your 48 with those pipes.

 

With a good tuner and a good dyno guy you can make shorty loud pipes run awesome. Mine have no baffles or O2 sensors and I gained over 10 horse out of my bike and way loud! PC-V tuner and my dyno guy hooked me up. I have tons of power in all my gears from bottom end to full throttle.

 

I'm running the Santee LAF pipes. They are loud as f**k. I picked up online, but They don't list them for a sporty, but the soft tails fit right up.
I like that flame that shoots out also.

Because some people want to attract attention and have bragging rights "LOUD" doesn't mean more performance

 

I would have to say that mine are likely as loud as Rog48's and louder than the listed ones.

 

VIEDs Runs fine, does have a little decel pop. Im really not worried about performance. It definitely has more kick than stock but Im sure not as much as some of the performance pipes. I did put some cheap 5 dollar baffles in it which got rid of the raspiness which my ears appreciated

My son will be getting a Hammer 1250 kit for his 883 this winter, he WILL need a tuner for that. I think Ill go in on the power vision 2 bike tuner to dial it in better.

 

SiK Pipes are probably one of the loudesy you'll come across, other than custom built.

Same reason why people put big ol fart can mufflers on civics think they gain alot of power?
