Default Tips for Removing 883 Exhaust? With Pic.

Morning guys. I'm playing hookey from Church today as the wife and kids are out of town traveling and I've got a Roland Sands Slant exhaust I intend to install today. Got the SE air cleaner on last night and my Dyno Jet power vision installed and mounted.

I was looking at the OEM exhaust last night on the 2013 883, and saw the exhaust exchange tube (as I'll call it) where the two separate pipes share a balancing chamber? I'm going to reckon that this unit comes off too? Boy I hope so. This is my first modern day Harley so this is slightly new to me. Yes I thought I wouldn't need the OEM manual, but Kinda wished I had bought it.

I'm keeping the OEM narrow band O2 sensors, and have already flashed the reccomended Tune to the ECM. I've got to say I really like the Power Vision. I went out on a ride yesterday and recorded everything measureable using the PV and OEM equipment and settings. After I finish the job I plan on recording a post install run and doing a comparision, mostly to insure I'm not lean or rich, and check temps, HP, Torque, and Fuel Economy.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Here's a pic of where she's at right now:

Question

I'll let others answer your question, but what is that Isle of Man sticker doing there in the background?!

Well as it turns out Vance and Hines does a great job of writing the "removal instructions". The old system came off like grease lighting. No problems.

Unfortunately I'm being held up completing the install with two issues. First - the HD factory destroyed one of the circlips on OEM installation and I don't have an extra one (bike has 150 miles on it). Turns out that cylinder (the rear) had probably 40 inch pounds of torque on it. But I'll pick that up tommorow.

The second issue is that I need O2 lead extensions. Hard to believe. V+H says on the instructions "some models may need this". Let me be frank. Every darn 883 built in the last 7 years would need these. Dang it.

So I'm at a standstill until I can get extensions shipped in.

As for the IOM sticker. Good eyes. I am fortunate enough to have a job that allows me to travel a little. Caught the TT this year while catching some training in GB.

I never had the chance to travel around the World to biking places while I was working, so well done! I've been to the TT over 30 times to date, it's a great place.
