Thats the thing. I tried two steels and a friction and it wouldnt go back together, the stack was too high..and i talked with a bunch of life time harley techs and they all said that the two ateels would be fine...so i did that and it worked fine...then after about 5 months of doin that...it just suddenly started slipping.

All the guys i talk to say its internal, but i dont see what anything internal would cause it to slip. Its been down for over two months and ive pulled that clutch out at least six times and ive takin it apart and check everything over and over and obviously im still missin something. I went to school for two years for motorcycles and powersports, im pretty good at fixin this ****, but my own bike is puttin me through the wringer.

Okay, I have not done the 2 steel/1 friction mod to my bike, but I have read dozens of postings where this was done successfully with no issues. Is it possible you have the diaphragm spring installed upside down? I'm not sure if that is possible, but maybe?

I have not read of anyone on this site or xlforum ever say running 2 steels alone is okay. Maybe email Hammer Performance or NRHS and ask some real experts.

Are you using a stock clutch pack??? If it's aftermarket, maybe the thickness of the steels or frictions is different???

John
