Default 03 sportster what shocks to use

I was looking to possibly improve ride and maybe not sure if I want to but lower it a hare. Any thoughts maybe leave it stock height but better shocks.

ha ha- you aren't going to like this one...

if you lower the bike, the ride is worse. looks better/ rides worse

mine is raised an inch in the back on custom built shocks. I stiffened the front a bit with slightly heavier shock oil. my bike rides perfectly... handles well and also is comfy on the big road and around town. I will get a pic so you can see the height diff (you cant really see it for an inch- but it doesn't have the lowered look, that's for sure)

This question really depends on what shocks/shock length you have now. Different model sporties come with different shock lengths from the factory. You might have the 12.75" stock shocks from a Standard XL, or you might have the 11" shocks if it's a "Custom" model, or if you bought it used the previous owner may have already replaced the shocks with who knows what.
