I wonder if my PIAA headlamp would melt it or deform it. My headlight glass can be too hot to touch at times.........

My bet is YES, it will melt on your light.

Same here. My PIAA bulb throws out some serious BTU's[!] and the glass gets roaring hot so I'd have to use a coarse stainless mesh if'n I was to undertake this mod, which I prolly won't. Though I do like the vertical aluminum grate looking guard that someone out there makes, now who the hell was it...[put on thinking cap, followed by a slight pause:]...ah yes, Rough Crafts:



I've often wondered what level of light degradation it offers...if any...sure does look cool though! 'Comes in polished aluminum too.
