ok thanks. I have seen some light colored residue on various bolt threads that I have removed. Doubt it is faded blue or red so I guess that is thread sealer or anti-seaze? what color are those?

Dried Blue Loctite usually looks "off white" or "light grey" when you remove a bolt that was installed with it.
