That's why I have an Iron 883/1200 and a Street Glide, best of both worlds and no need for more.. All I need is a tour pack on my SG and thats it, I may opt for a luggage rack sooner or later.. Overall, I'm happy. Iron is the PERFECT city bike, fun bike and the SG is the main tour rider...

I could pay cash for a new SG if I wanted but I can't justify throwing 21k away for a bike designed to travel in a straight line on the interstate. We all know that HD's are way overpriced but that doesn't keep us from buying and riding them. Ever try to back up your sporty on an incline? Sometimes i have issues with my near 600lb 883r. No way i could do that with a hd tourer and im an ox strength wise. Now if i had money to waste id own a Sporty, Fat Bob, Softail Deluxe and a Streetglide. I still think Sportsters are the best looking, best performing, best sounding, best handling bike Harley makes be it old or new.
I ride 20 miles a day commuting to work and back and run about 100 or 200 miles a day on weekends hunting corners. That makes the Sportster my perfect bike.

Why do people have to rip on other's rides?
I won't be getting another bike, as long as mine works fine. I have too many other things I need in life. If I won the lottery and could fulfill all my wishes, I would get another FLHTCU. Just to try the new ones, and have ABS.
And I would like an original Then Came Bronson 1969 Sportster. Loved that show.

I have always wondered why some big bike HD owners feel the reason why the rest of us buy a sporty is because we CAN'T afford bigger? I would venture to say there maybe some in that boat but not all of us. If I got an extra $10 to $15k Free, I would drop about a grand more into my bike and about another $3k in the house to complete my ongoing upgrade. The rest I would stuff into the bank. If the day comes when I feel I no longer want my sporty and I want something different, I will trade it in or sell it then buy what I want.
