My next set will be the Michelin Commander II. I've heard mostly good things about them and the prices seems competitive. They're also supposed to last longer than the stock Dunlops.
I put on a set of Metzler 880's last summer and they are a big improvement over the stock Dunlops. I don't know how they'll age nor how quickly they'll wear, but I am quite happy with them. I am now also hearing good things about the Michelin Commander II's and may try them next - or the new Metzler 888's, depending on the reviews by the time I need new ones again. There's always something coming out touted to be the latest and greatest so I'll see what's out there at the time new ones are needed again...
I have a new Michelin Commander II with about 500 miles on it. It does what its supposed to do. I guess that's all one can ask. It hasn't done any magic curing since the original Dunlop was fine too. It does look cool though.
