1200C rejet help

RE: 1200C rejet help
I've done the carb on several occasions to re-jet and work on the slide vacuum. In all cases, I did not have to remove the carb. I never had to take off the enrichener, never had to remove the linkage. I did have to pull the carb off of the intake manifold. I did drill out the plug with a drill and used a screw in the drilled out hole. All this was done with the carb still connected to the bike. I also did the upper part of the carb with the diaphram.I was able to remove the slide mechanism, spring, etc. Mind you this all has to be done very carefully and slowly. I have experience in rebuilding carbs from the past as an alley mechanic. The results I achieved were worth the effort. Go ahead and give it a try. If you are having trouble, then remove it if you will.

You can do it ALL from the bottom of the carb without removing anything but the A/C. Get yourself a small hand mirror and a small drill motor or an angle attachment to a large drill motor. Go slow and it is a relatively easy job. I did! Make sure that your Phillips screw driver fits EXACTLY when taking out the bowl screws. Good idea to replace the Phillips with socket-head allen screws when going back together. Do a SEARCH on this forum for the tuning techniques to coordinate the idle screw with the primary jet screw. Read and re-read before beginning and it will be a 30 minute job. ............ BC
