Default painting on wrinkle black

I want to paint red diamond pin stripes on my derby cover and air cleaner cover to go with the red diamond stitching im going to get on a seat. Because these parts are wrinkle black and textured is there anything special i need to do to paint these.....also what type of paint would be good to use?

I hit my wrinkle grey ham can with 3 coats of kylon primer and then 4 of gloss. Turned out great. You can still see some texture but for the most part is smooth.

not necessarily looking for it to be smooth...just wondering if i have to do anything to prep the part to be painted or if it is just ready to go cause its already textured. and again if anyone could point me in the direction of a good paint to use id appreciate it

I just wiped it down with Acetone. No problem with adhesion.

If it were me.. I'd tape up what I want covered, hit it with a scuff pad, clean it really good and start spraying. On little stuff like that I'm sure you can use some autozone paint in the spray cans, you just have to make sure they dry good before putting on more coats and clear. I've always used those paints on little stuff on my cars or even te bike and haven't had a problem yet. But I've seen a lot of people using spray paint from Home Depot and say they love it... Good luck!
