Default Anybody have one of the HD spring solo seats?

I am curious as I have one on order as the stock seat sucks. I didn't ask here before I ordered one to see everyone who has ones opinion on them. I think they look good and seem to be good quality.

Thanks!

All the pics I see with these seats on bikes and nobody has an opinion? LOL

I have one and love the look but I find it sits me back too far. You may not find that an issue depending on your height. I'm 5'8"

It's a topic that's been brought up several times which may explain the lack of responses. General consensus is the seat is better than stock(depending on what stock seat you have) but still not the most comfortable thing out there. As mentioned when I had one I found it lifted me up a little and back a little. They're great quality and was a definite improvement over the stock 48 seat, but don't expect touring seat style comfort.

The seat it self is great quality, very nice grade of leather but the mounting setup is not as nice as a larosa which costs much less! The harley seat has a piece of material that Velcros over the opening under the seat and looks kinda low budget and the springs are crap! Many seats offer a powder coated metal piece that is made to fit under the seat and looks more factory! If I could do it again I would buy the harley seat only and then buy the larosa mounting set up that would be a great seat! All this is just my opinion of course good luck!

I have one on my Forty-Eight, it's good quality, but the springs are too stiff to really do any good over bumps. For the record, I weigh two hundred pounds, if the springs are too stiff for my weight imagine how they feel for anyone that weighs less.
You'd think Harley Davidson would get this sort of thing right!

I'm on my phone so I can't look it up/link it but there's a thread on here about replacing the springs with rubber stoppers. It drops the seat a little and the rubber is a little softer than the springs. Pretty decent improvement and looks better too.

I like the rich Phillips seat with memory foam. Not as big as the hd version and made in the us. They will custom make it in any color and design. I got a black seat with brass rivets and 2" coil springs.

I'll have to search for it and link it tomorrow from my computer. I'm pretty sure it's saved in my thread subscriptions. The whole deal cost around $20 to do.
