Default check engine light

Haven't posted on here in quite a while, haven't had much to say. have a bike problem I need help with. I'm not much of a mechanic so any help would be appreciated. I have an 06 1200 custom with about 60,000 miles
Several days ago my check engine light and my oil light started coming on for a few seconda then going off while riding. It happens at all speeds. They stay on for just a second or 2 and go back off. Sometimes they won't come on for a day or two, other times 5 or 6 times in a 50 mile trip. last Thursday i did a 40 mile ride and that is when it started but on Friday i did a 400 mile trip and no problem. Today i did a 100 mile ride and they flickered on and off several times. The bike runs fine with no other problems. i had the bike in the shop for fluid change and service on Monday. I know this could be one of a thousand things or nothing at all. But if any of you have had this happen to them any help wuld be appreciated. I am planning to leave for Chicago in a week and don't want to hit the road until i get it fixed.
Thanks
Lou

Since your Check Engine light is coming on, start by reading the "How To: Diagnostic Trouble Codes" sticky at the top of this section.
