Default Two Bikes Cant Decide - Different Technologies

So heres the deal. I'm itching for my first harley. I've done a TON of research and know exactly what I want, (well almost). I found two different 883's. A 2007 883L black with red lettering, all chrome...flawless condition. Or my new find, a 2006 883R (the orange and black one) racing flag, black engine with chrome accents.

Now the 2007 is EFI, the 2006 is Carbed. What the hell do I go with? I think I'd rather have the sweet orange and black one because the roadster, well....... its wicked, but carbed. Would going with the EFI just be more reliable for me? DO these carb models need to be choked? What to do!!

Paint is upgradable, but an engine is... well, that's upgradable as well. I'd go with the system you'd prefer over color though!

Personally I'd go with the 06 just because it's an "R" and has the sweetest paint job HD has ever offered IMHO... plus an 883L is about as boring as it gets from HD.
Hard to advise though without the mileage and price for both.
Also think about what you want in the end, a sport style bike, a cruiser or a mini bagger...depending what you want to end up with dictates what model you should start with.

All things being equal, I would pick the 06 R in a heartbeat.

Well, I found out a bit more. The R is $4,700 with 23K miles on it (ouch) the reason it has that many miles the seller told me is because it has a smaller than stock rear tire on it. God only knows why. sux!

The 883L is $5200 with 9K miles on it. Prestine condition.

I love the R and the color...but dam... its 175 miles away, and the 883L is only 8 miles away. Plus that smaller rear tire will equat to some dollars in replacement.

The R would have been cool. It has a cool stock seat too. Gotta love tuck n' roll.

Are you financing it? I'd actually wait a bit. Seriously. My old boss had a low. Pretty standard.

I'm not financing. Don't really wanna wait? Wait for what? The perfect bike will never come along

All things being equal, personally I would lean towards the carbed bike... fewer sensors to worry about (and yes, all the carbed bikes have a choke)

But of course, all things are not equal in this case!
