Stage 2 light engine kit, 1250cc
3-9/16 bore NRHS iron lined aluminum cylinders (3-9/16 = 3.5625)
10.5:1 pistons, pins, clips, rings
Stage 2 light head prep (send us your stock heads)
Complete Top End Gasket Set
Matching Street Performance Camshafts
$1785.00

so I guess the extra $100.00 is for the additional head work between the two kits.
I emailed Dan at NRHS and he said that with the 883 heads the pistons used are 10.25:1 not 10.5:1. He said that he is going to change it on the 883 conversation page of his website. He said give him a call and he'll be happy to chat with you about your possibilities.

as far as NRHS vs Hammer all I can say is I would not be afraid to buy from either one of them. I wasn't interested in a racing machine just a nice street-able upgrade in power, which i got . I'd like to get mine on the dyno but then it wouldn't prove much as Hammer did my heads and whatever power i am making is just right. I know Hammer does good headwork, but i also have not heard of any bad work from NRHS. I can say NRHS took very good care of me through the whole build and i asked many, many questions. I think if you have problems with either of these companies they will take care of you. That all said if you are the type who is looking for 100+ dyno sheets and are more into the racing side of sportsters i would probably lean toward hammer as they seem to be continually pushing the limits on hp from 883 builds with dyno results to prove it. If i was doing my iron all over tomorrow for the same build i did the first time i would still go with NRHS because i have no reason not to.

He was banned from here yesterday over a dispute with Hammer? Are you sure??? I know NRHS got banned from here awhile back for advertising without paying but I'm talking about just yesterday he was back here pushing his kits in this very thread but today his posts are gone. Just wondering what happened does anyone know?

Actually I think the technical knowledge there far surpasses the technical knowledge here. No offense to anyone cause there are a good number of smart guys here. The reason I post so much more here is because I feel so much smarter here.

Knowledge there does appear to be much much better. There's always so many newbie questions here which is good if a person is on that level. Kind of like the msf course; there should be a course before that course for people needing more help etc. no offense to anyone as people have to start somewhere with learning. The sporty does attract entry level people more than the other more expensive bikes.

I have to somewhat disagree with you here, most people entering into the Harley realm come from a long line of street bikes and it is my understanding that most new (first-time buyers) purchase Glide models, now this may or may not be true globally but every new Harley rider I have ever met since 1995 their first Harley was a Glide then they either bought another model or went to the sportster. Now if we are speaking of the 16 to 21 yr. market that might stand true..

My local HD dealer (California Harley Davidson) has a sign on their wall that states basically the same "The Glide models are the number one US seller for new First-Time Harley owners"

I was at a local dealer the other day to get a part. They had over 20 new sportys in a row. 6 of them were 48s. I was looking at them when a middle aged couple walked by, guy dressed in his full pirate outfit. He tells his woman "we can get you one of these, an 883 is a nice little starter bike" I sighed and walked to the parts counter.
