Default Parts # for Nightster Forward Controls

Looking for the parts # for Nightster forward controls. Purchased a set (unused) still in the box awhile back. Started to do the install today and see that the brake rod is about 1/2" too long. The parts number for the set I have is 33398-06, 33395-06, and 33397-07. I checked the Harley catalogue on-line and see that the set I have is for an XL, not an XLN. I think I may have the wrong set, but I'm looking for the correct part number for the Nightster just to confirm. Thanks.

I just checked all three of those part numbers and all are listed as compatible with the Nightster. Your question confuses me a little bit, you gave three part numbers for three different sets of forwards, which set do you have?

Beer - I just checked the box. I have the 33397-07 kit (the instructions list all three kits). You're correct - these are suppose to fit the Nightster. That means I'm doing something wrong in the installation. The brake rod should simply bolt onto the foot peg bracket and the rear brake master cylinder bracket. It should be a simple fit with no pressure. This isn't rocket science, but then again this is the first time I'm doing this, so......I'll take another look tomorrow evening after work and see if I can make sense out of it.

Your info helps. It confirms that it's me, not the kit. Thanks.
