So, Who All Went To Bike Week?
A buddy and I went up for the day yesterday from Charleston and we had a fuc&ing blast. I noticed after about 30 seconds though that I need to get a bagger if I wanna fit in. Good thing I don't care about fitting in We stopped at the Dead Dog in Murrell's Inlet first, decent place, tons of bikes. Then we went up to Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson. On our way back we stopped at Suck Bang Blow in Murrells. That's where the most action was. We got there just in time to watch the burnout contest. I think I saw 10,000+ bikes in 4 hours. I had no clue how massive it was. I'm planning on staying a few days next year. There's no way to see everything in one day.

Glad people are having a good time, and it's getting popular again! Local government was trying to force an end to it because the old local grey hairs were upset about the noise. When half the local businesses started closing their doors due to lack of business, less taxes were getting collected, and the politicians told the grey hairs to go pack sand.
"Myrtle Beach Harley Week" also got a bad name because its followed by the neighboring town's (Atlantic Beach's) "Black Bike Week". Other than a little exhaust noise, the Harley crowd presents nothing for even the whiniest of the grey hairs to get upset over. When "Black Bike Week" rolls into town crime rates go through the roof! If it isn't bolted, chained, and locked down, it gets stolen! Bikes, cars, shop lifting, pharmacies getting robbed twice or more a day, you name it.
STINKS everyone has to suffer because their behavior.
You can Google "Atlantic Beach Black Bike Week" and learn all about the facts yourself if you think I'm being biased. We've lived in Myrtle Beach over 4 years now and have seen enough of "Black Bike Week" to last 10 life times. http://cofcc.org/2011/05/myrtle-beac...ack-bike-week/
Harley's WELCOME!

I was talking to some guys there who say they have been going for years. Most of them said it's still only half of what it used to be, which is insane if that's true. I really like the fact that people are staying faithful to Murrell's Inlet even though Myrtle has loosened up their restrictions. As for the rally, we didn't stay. We rode home late last night. But next year I will definitely be there for more than one day and hopefully get to enjoy the rally.
