Default broken throttle cable...

I went to take off on my 04 1200 custom this morning and as i rolled on the throttle nothing happened! So I removed the casing to find that the front cable had broken off right at the anchor screw or whatever it's called that holds the cable to the grip.
Does anyone know what I'll need to do to fix this?

A new cable would be a good guess

Not real hard, the procedure is in the Service Manual.

Never done one on my sporty but you should deffinetly get a service manual. I wouldn't think it would be too hard. Probly have to remove the tank and seat then remove old cable and instal new one.

Its a fairly easy change, other than fighting the attachment at the carb throttle body, take deep breaths and youll get it easy enough

pretty damn easy !
air intake removal would make it much easier , the cable just snaps into the housing
so easy a caveman can do it lol

remember to check throttle once installed - with bars at full lock left an right
to make sure it dont stick

If you don't have a service manual (and you really should) just taking it off will tell you a lot about putting the new one back on. BUT, IT HAS TO BE PROPERLY ADJUSTED BEFORE YOU RIDE. Again, if you don't have the manual, you should be able to find the procedure on Youtube - wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yep, just looked, it's there. Sorry I don't know how to attach a link. Just go there and type in "throttle cable adjustment harley" & it's all over the place.

The cable is easy to replace, just be patient with it. And I have a use for your old cable, PM me and I'll send ya a few bucks to ship it to me if you're going to throw it out.
