I keep a seperate key ring for each vehicle and house/office keys. Keep the keys to whichever vehicle I'm using in my right pocket and the other keys in the left. Never understood why people put all of their keys on one ring you can only ride or drive one vehicle at a time.

I do the same thing - in fact I don't even put a ring on my vehicle keys except for the truck which has two. I just use the key by itself. The house(s)/gate/mailbox/laundry/PO box etc. keys all go on one ring of their own and into the glovebox. I hate having keys jangling around and banging on the steering column (or my gas tank, of course) when I'm driving.

Which is a bit of a bummer 'cuz I did kinda want to decorate the key to my pig, but didn't want to end up with a scratched tank (don't feel bad, tho', 'cuz I ended up palming my gas cap to fill 'er up, and forgot I was wearing racing gloves with metal palm bits - doh!).

Anyway, I thought about getting one of those custom HD logo or Skull keys for the bike, to satisfy my need to decorate without something flapping around in the wind. But they're a awful pricey fer a lousy key (60 bucks!). I'll live.

I just use the key and a short jell type fob. Boy was I so stupid! It could have been worse.

I scratched the crap outta my tank with the buckle on my leather jacket going over some very bumpy dirt roads when I still had the mid controls on the bike and my seating position had me leaning foward more.[:@][:@][:@] Any suggestions on fixing/removing them?? Thought about putting on a tank bra but not sure if I like the look.

I've got the bike key and my seat key on the little dealer HD ring they give you...

No damage to the tank...

But I did have a fork bag mounted low on the back of my sissy bar and it rubbed the clear on the fender... that was a bummer too...

Live and learn...

sorry to hear about the scratches. and i hope someone has learnt from your misfortune.
i took the security fob off the keyring and it lives in my jacket pocket and the key has a small rubber tag from harley city melborne on it( the dealer).

PS SPORTY PIG, does your garage door opener operate any type of door and are they a genuine part.

Yes, it's a 2 part system, one mounts in the garage, and is wired to the opener, the other mounts on the bike, so it will work with pretty much any garage door opener. I love the thing!!!

It's HD part # 91558-01A
