Default Cycle Shack Mufflers - Iron

Got the Cycle Shack slipons put on my Iron Saturday night. Took all of about 30 minutes. They fit really good and I did not need new crossover port gaskets. I was really shocked how loud these are. They have a removable baffle but these sound d@mn close to straight pipes. I need to pull a baffle and look at the design. There can't be much to them. Anyone who is considering these should want really loud pipes. For $160....they are tough to beat. They also have a good reputation for power. Here are a couple of quick phone pics...

They look great. I love my Cycle Shacks. I've had them for five years. The underside of them are a little rusty but I've ridden in rain plenty of times and on salty wet roads.

Since the bike still has the stock a/c with snorkel, fuel management is not a necessity. If changing out the a/c for a free flowing a/c, I'd consider a Power Vision or at the very least, iED's.

Thanks guys! I haven't bought a fuel management system or high flow AC yet. I am considering getting something simple like the Xied or Fuelpak for a temporary solution until I decide on the engine build. How big a deal is it to install either of these on a Sporty? I have a Fuelpak on the Streetglide but not sure where it is supposed to go on the Sporty.

I should probably just go ahead and make the commitment to the SEPST since it will support any and all future changes.

I'd run a simple xied if you're not gonna run some sort of smart tuner. Cheap, effective and easy to install. I'd definitely throw something on to keep the engine from running too hot or lean otherwise your exhaust would start to "blue" and you can cause some damage to the engine.

When you get your a/c, I'd recommend going with a Power Vision. They are expensive at $500 but you don't need a Dyno to tune it. You can tune it yourself using Autotune Basic. When or if you change your mods, you can always retune it yourself. But, like Six16 said above, you could always use iED's as a simple and cheap solution but remember that iED's don't give you a full tune, they just keep the engine from running dangerously lean.

I have the same slip ons with the D&K thunder torque inserts. Love the sound. I replaced the port gaskets on mine tho. Figured for under $10 might as well. Love the sound at idle cruising and accelerating. Only down side is they freaking SCREAM when I let off the throttle to slow down. No sure if you noticed the same?
