question: if i break this down again and reassemble. do i need to buy a new head gasket again. The bike was on for a collectve 2 min.

I have a theory that most gaskets can be reused, but the base and head gaskets are so important you may want to get new ones again. They do "crush" to seal and may not reseal. Not a risk I'd take for the time and effort spent.
