DK whats the difference between the 587 and 425?

I just ordered the HiFlo 587 Monday and now I see the 425 - dang it!

 

Looks like a smaller filter

 

Yeah.. 425 is a 4 1/4" filter and the 578 is a 5 7/8" filter

 

That makes sense.. now to see how I can get the 425 as I planned on picking up my bike from the mechanic today.

 

so is the back mounting plate the same size as the bigger filter? I don't see an option to buy a 425 back plate on their site.

 

The 425 is smaller than the 587. You were correct on the measurements. The 425 uses the same support bracket and breather system as our 587 complete systems. They do however have a smaller back plate, filter, and cover. So if you already have our 587 system and would like to get the 425, you can order just the 425 kit, which is just the back plate, filter, and cover. I just ordered my 587, got shipped out today. Will there be a trasnparent cover in the future for the 452??

 

I would get the 425 but didn't see a rain sock for it, yet....

 

The 425 is very nice. Even smaller than mine.
If I knew it, I'd have gotten that instead of the VO2.

 

There are no plans as of right now to do a transparent cover for this system.
