Default Butterfly to CV Carb

Hey guys!

New to the forum! I was trying to find if anyone else already posted or asked about this, but was unable to find anything....

I have a 1987 xlh883 and wanted to switch out the butterfly carb to the cv. So i was wondering if anyone had a part number on which would be best? ive read pre 99?

Also i was wondering what else i needed? i know i need an adapter from the original manifold. anything else? cables what? and if anyone has a link or a how to that would be great thanks for reading!

There is a thread over in the Evo section on the same subject! CV carbs were fitted from 1988, until the early 2000s, on both Sportys and big twins. You will need a later manifold to match the cv carb, plus air filter, etc. Go to Ronnies microfiche where you can compare your bike with later ones, which should help you.
