Plus you get the 2 year warranty and $400 gift card.
(try to get the 1000 service thrown in for free with the new one too!)

Or look for a private party Sportster as suggested in above posts. I think there are lots of nice low mileaged Nightsters, 48, Customs for sale.
+1... I agree very strongly with that statement. I'd pay the extra $2500 for 15k miles. You're actually only paying $2100 assuming you have a use for the gift card. I'd probably save it for future service maintenance. Also you have to decide how much the two year warranty is worth to you. I probably wouldn't pay more than $400 for a two year warranty if it didn't already come with the bike.

That was just my opinion, before you buy I'd take a look at some nice used bikes from private sellers with low miles. You might find something you really like. But to me, there's nothing like taking home a brand new bike. I chose new because I wanted a brand spanking new '08 standard. I'm still glad I bought it.

I hear what you're saying, but right after you first ride it, it's a used bike. There are so many good used bikes for sale. After the first month, you can't tell a good used one from a new one. But the price of a used one puts a lot of money in your pocket.

And once you push it out the door, it depreciates $2500.

Why do you say that? Will it immediately lose much value once I drive it off the lot?

If that's the case, then a four year old bike with 15k is extremely over priced at 2500 less that a new one. Guess you should be looking for a nearly new bike with only a few hundred miles for that price.

Here is a link to the bike. http://www.rattlesnakemountainhd.com...at=&lng=&miles=

I am not sure if it is really overpriced or not. If I am doing my homework correctly it blue books around $7000 retail. If that's the case then yes it's well overpriced.

Salem HD had that same bike (2009 Custom) last summer with only 3600 miles for the same price. They took $1000 off of that without a hassle and I bought it. Maybe I could have got them to come down more, but I was happy with the deal.

I like that place, LOTS of bikes to drool over.
