Default Worn Sprocket

Hi Guys, I just replaced my worn out chain on my 87 Sportster and I noticed that the teeth on the rear drive sprocket are worn to a sharp point. I ordered a new sprocket but it won't be in for a week. Can I run the chain on the old sprocket until next week when it arrives. This is NY and we are finally getting some nice weather. I don't want to miss a minute of nice riding time.

replace both sprockets and chain together.....i personally would not run your old sprockets with a new chain....just my opinion...have some patience and put it all together and ride it with all new parts
