Holy cow!!
I installed the hayden's m6 chain tensioner on my '95 1200yesterday. Man, what a difference! My whirlling sound is gone. It sounds and shifts like a new bike. It took me about two hours to complete it. I wanted to take my time to make sure I didn't screw anything up. Rode it around for about two hours, no leaks so I guess I did it right.
The slow speed jerking is gone too. I feel it was a great investment.
ol Red rides like a champ with the new se II a/c and se IIslip ons, carb rebuild and rejet- (46 slo, 180 main), new plugs and wires. I just kinda question the color of my plugs though. the center insulatior is a little white, but the first few threads of the plug are black like it's too rich.
I 'll get it figured out though.

RE: Holy cow!!
John, the hayden m6 chain tensioner is an automatic tensioner for the primary. I installed one on a 96 1200. I run it for over 20,000 miles. It eleminated adjusting the primary. And like sporthawg, my sporty shifted smoother, but I had to install the smaller of the springs, the larger one put too much tension on the primary and caused an excessive whirling noise. I think it was around $100 and I ordered it through the dealer. I don't even know if you adjust the primary chain on 06 models. My 06 dyna has an auto tensioner.

I ordered mine through www.jpcycles.com. I think it was 99.99. I used the short spring also. It says if you have over 15,000 to use the tall spring. I only have 9,500 on mine. I feel it was a great investment.
