Progressive shocks, whats the hold up?

One of the problems is simply the supply chain, which at least is from Progressive to Drag Specialties to your local shop. As others have suggested, cancel your order and buy them from someone who has them in stock, but better still buy them from Progressive and talk through things with them, to make sure you get the correct length, springs etc.

Finally, 4 months after ordering, I got my Progressive 430 shocks on. I also went with the Progressive front fork springs. Wow, what a difference. My ride is not as jarring and it feels so much better in the corners. I know many on here have recommended Progressive shocks (why I ordered) and now I know the experience lives up to the hype

I put the 412HDs on about a month and a half ago and there is per say a pleasurable improvement. I run them on the softest setting. To do it over again I would of bought the regular. with me at 230 and spouse at 140 the HDs never bottom out with 370lbs of rider weight on the lowest setting. Also Progressive recommended 13 inch as a stock replacement but the R model 883 evidently has 13.5 as I had a slight drop in the rear but it also made the profile look cooler with a higher front end.
You can put bagger shocks on a Sportster but it won't ever ride like a bagger. Every machine has its limitations.
