Default Helmet Sizing

I was always curious about something. I have an odd shaped head and not every helmets fits properly. An example is between my Licks Nov Dot and my new Voss Bobber 500. Both are large (7 3/8 - 7 1/2). My licks helmet fits perfectly on the sides but at the top it kind of just sits on the top of my head. The Voss Bobber helmets fits my head perfectly at the top but there is space around the ears.

I'm really wondering which is safer. I have a feeling the Voss might give me issues with wind noise....i just got it, haven't ridden with it yet

Thanks but that video doesn't help lol...like i said, both helmets show the same size in the sizing charts but one fits bigger in certain spots and the other fits smaller in certain spots.

I'm guessing you've tried several on, so I'd try to go with the one that fits the suggest. Or try to find one with a more "mold able" inside, if that's even possible.

Nuthin' a can of expanding foam from Home Depot, a couple extra large condoms and some ingenuity couldn't handle! I'll leave the details to your imagination...

If that don't work mebbe' you could smack yourself in the head with a hammer to add a few lumps where required?

But seriously, LOL [I'm such a dique, I know], there doesn't seem to be a common standard other than the measurement around your noggin' above your ears, and the "round" or "oblong" style helmet. Your best bet is to go to a shop that carries a large selection and try each one on individually, or else spend the time and effort ordering, trying on, sending back, lather, rinse, repeat...

'Hope you find something without too much more trouble.

=8^)

WHAT?? What's the problem? You own two helmets and don't know which one to wear?

Most helmets don't fit me either. If you're interested in a full face, I found that Arai's "long oval" shaped helmet fits perfectly. I have an older version of the Signet-Q. They are very expensive but it's worth it if nothing else fits. Here's a link: http://www.araiamericas.com/default....id/black-frost. Mine is in black frost, almost flat black with a little sheen to it:

Just a note : remember to wear your eye protection when trying on half helmets. It does matter.

I wouldn't buy any helmet unless you've tried it on first. Sounds like you need to get rid of both of yours and find one that fits properly

Best bet is to just order one from Revzilla. Try it on...if it fits keep it. If not send it back for a bigger size. They are good about that.
