Replacming bars -longer brake line?
Hi all,
Aiming to mod my 2012 Iron (first time ever modifying a bike!). Want to put vintage style ape hangers with 7" rise. All lines/electric cables will 'stretch' to fit except the flexible brake line from the cylinder to the 'hard' line. Need longer flexible brake line. Any suggestions regarding best manufacturer, line type, etc.? Can I use existing fittings and just replace the actual line or do I need to get a new line with the correct fittings? Any advice would be appreciated.
Sorry if this seems to be a real newbie post.

Magnum Shielding makes the Harley upgraded braided lines. I went the other direction on my bars but ordered a shorter brake line from them. Got rid of the metal hard line and just used the clip on the bottom of the triple tree clamp to support it on the way to the caliper.

You can also find local places that will make you a brake line to spec. That or check out drag specialties or burley cables. One bit of advice if you are changing the brake line get a vacuum bleeder. New lines do not like to bleed by hand.

Thanks for the reply guys. Was thinking about the possibility of ripping out the hard line and replacing the whole thing from cylinder to caliper with flexible line. Good to see it can be done. Living in Ireland so I don't have the relative luxury of having many local places to get bespoke hardwear but will look around. Good advice about the vacuum bleeder - already have one as I used to do my own work on my car(s), hope it will do. Used to replacing brake lines etc. with like-for-like on cars but not with new spec (i.e. longer line, replacing hard line, etc.) on bike (my Iron is only my second bike) but aim to have fun doing it.
