Default "Other Make" Sporster 883

Ok, So I am in the market for a Sportster and I have been scouring Craigslist to find just the right bike. In my perusal of Craigslist I have found a bike that is titled "Other Make Sportster 883". Can anyone tell me what this might be? It seems to have all the badges that say Harley Davidson on it and show the 100th anniversary stuff.

Without seeing it, my guess is they started with an 883 and added parts from other models.

Like mine, when people see a Sportster Iron, they think 883, but it's faster than a stock 1200 of any model. I have the seat and pillion from a 48 too. He might have added a nightster or '48 front end so it's a hybrid. I wouldn't tell people it's a 48, though it has 48 features/cosmetics. I'd advertise as an upgraded Iron 883. It's possible too he doesn't know the model designation like 883n or someone is selling it that don't know much about the bike. Years ago, they didn't have all the name badging we have today. They'd be called.... like an XLCH or Hugger. There's more variety buy last yr, there were 4 models. Iron,Nightster,48 and 72.

Get the model desgination...like a 1200x or 1200N or 883n
Need a link or pics at least.

May be as simple as the seller omitted to select 'Harley-Davidson' when placing his ad? Just a thought!

That explains it - car dealership trying to sell bike they know nothing about. Depending on the miles, offer them $3K...

Looks fine, with a few simple add-on extras, last of the solid mounts. I had a Dyna the same colour and year! Well worth taking a look at if it is the sort of thing you're after. I doubt if they will have much difficulty selling it and a car dealer will know every trick, so play hard!

Because it's a Chrysler dealership, I think the 'other make' just means it's an inventory item for them that isn't Chrysler.

Just look it over well. The bottom of the ad is weird. Just make sure the bike is in good shape.
