Default hd dealer almost killed me today

I went to HD because I needed a brake line that was 50 inches long due to my new risers. I got there and was told to talk to one of their mechanics thats been there for years. He went in the back and came out with a "kit" It was a black plastic line that was cut with two fittings to go over the line and then two bango fittings. I asked if that would actually hold up and work and he said yeh we use them on all our custom bikes. I said ok I went home installed it like he said. Bled my brakes then pumped my brake lever and pop line came right out of the fitting. Sprayed brake fluid all over the damn place. Ive never heard of anything like what he gave me and well Ill be there Monday bitching about it. Nice job HD.

Hope you didn't get brake fluid on any paint/coated parts...corrosive as hell.

Not good on the dealership's part - recommending a hybrid brake splice/extension kit over new/longer lines.

Glad you tested it. Not everyone thinks that far ahead.

What kit is it? Not saying its yours or their fault. I doubt they would sell you something knowing it would blow apart like that.

Where is the part where you almost died. Brake fluid is corrosive on paint, not skin..lol

Hope they take care of it, ide be pissed. That's why if I need to change brake lines I upgrade to a SS line from a reputable manufacturer. They sell them to "custom" bikes probably because they don't get ridden haha

If installed properly those plastic lines work they run them for brake lines on race cars
