I did my wife's and filled the hole where the center brake light was (instead of chopping the fender there).
To use the stock turn signals you'll need a run/brake/turn module. You can get one at your dealership. It's plug & play but you end up with a ball of crap you don't need.
The module looks like this.
Unplug the tail light harness under your seat. Plug the bike side in to one side of the module and the fender side in to the other side of the module. But, to clean it up, cut the fender side plug off and run new wires straight to your turn signals.
Pop on red lenses and you're good to go.

After looking up the part number for Harley.. I did not find the Harley harness online.. but I did end up finding the below...I guess I will either get the one you showed me and do it like you said... or maybe get one of these..??

Some ppl posted in another forum that they tried the HD part.. but people did not see much change in the turn, light, and the braking light.. so they got this..
Have you seen these
