Default WTF? 883/48 hybrid?

My bikes live in my basement. Havent paid much attention to them over the winter cause yeah Im a poser and dont like riding when its cold. Its getting warmer so I decided to give them a once over. Holy cow they must have gotten lonely over the winter and got a little too friendly with each other. My 883 came out looking a little different

Yup, needed some parts for what Im doing to the 48. So instead of buying them I just took them off the 883 This also makes the 883 sit a good 2 inches lower which the GF likes. She hasent taken it for a spin yet. I need to give it a good test run before I let her on it.

Learned a few things, its not only the front thats different on the 48. The rear rotor is smaller, the rear caliper bracket is shorter (because of the smaller rotor) and the rear wheel hub is narrower which requires the use of longer spacers. Oh, and I definitely need a shorter kick stand, she barely leans over now.

Should be done with the 48 in a week or so........no real dramatic change but it was the biggest headache change Ive done. Ill post pics when Im done. Sorry Im not a good step by step picture taken progress kinda guy........youll get pics of the finished product

Thing is Blue (thats what I call the 883) was supposed to remain stock. She is my back up bike to use when I want a change or for friends/relatives to use to ride with me. I liked the way she looked and rode and saw no need for change. Then I wanted to make one little change with my 48 which caused me to rob a bunch of parts off Blue. Good news is all the changes with Blue cost 95 bucks. $75 to have the front fender painted and $20 to have the tires swapped to the rims. I bet its the cheapest 48 conversion ever done
