Default big sucker II installation problems

I just installed an arlen ness big sucker II air cleaner and the two breather bolt o rings tore up. Also I don't have a torque wrench so I don't know what lbs I torqued to.

Will this cause me any problems?

Also I could not plug up one of the extra holes with the plastic hole plugs for the extra holes on the support bracket.

Do the washers go before the support bracket or after?

I didnt use a torq wrench either so I just sinched them up tight, but not so tight as to strip them.I also used teflon paste on the beather bolts and seems to work fine.

Also the 3 black bolts that connect inbetween the gaskets and support bracket I didn't know which way to put them with the hex side facing in or out? And I did not use loctite.

My xieds should be coming shortly. But now I am wondering if I should not install them? I don't want to ruin my mpg.

I rode about 100 miles today and the bike felt very good in the highway with the new filter. I would get to 80mph and not even realize it.

You'll be fine as long as you:

1) Don't over tighten. you'll strip it or break the bolt, which will SUCK.
2) Use locktight!
3) Check it in a week or two.

Ride the **** out of it!

You need the o rings on both sides or it'll weep oil out and make a mess. Black studs go thru the plate into the carb with the hex part facing out, that's how you tighten em in. Use the supied gasket between the carb and plate. Washers go up against the head of the breather bolts. Use blue loctite, use a soft hand and snug everything, not too crazy.

the first backplate i got in my kit cracked when i tightened it down to their spec. they sent me another one. it too cracked. got the third one, installed and the piece of **** blew oil all down my bike. wouldn't recommend for an efi. i'd get a perfromance machine a/c. best on the market imo.

Does anyone know what size o rings and plastic filter plugs for the extra holes are?

I want to go to my local hardware store and buy some.

I installed my Big Sucker II on mine with no issues. No crack backplate or oil leak. AC, V&H short shots and PCV...this thing gets up to 120mph very quick...
