My Road King, Softail Classic riding buddies always ask me when I plan on trading up. I am at the top already with my 05 1200C.

It's just a matter of how muchcomfort and convenience you want. My 1200 C is set up like a baby Road King and it serves me very well. If I had a stable of bikes I would have a variety but I don't.

"Sammi I see you know how to use the edit button...Good for you!"

My spelling is impeccable, yet my damn fingers don't always get with the program.

Thank goodness for the "edit" button.

i bought a sportster cause this is my first bike. wanted a harley, bottom line, but wasnt able to afford the big twin and was nervous i wasnt ready for the weight or power. i have a quick release windshield and sissy bar. around town, no windshield, highway or long rides, yeah, that thing goes right back on. i wouldnt put saddle bags on, but a sissy bar or fork bag, yes. weather changes too much and i want a place to put the change in gloves, clothes, or rain gear. so far, i love my 07' sportster and dont want a different bike. im happy.

I got the Sportster because I wanted to 'try' Harley for a change from having metrics before and didn't want to pay 20k+ only to find out they weren't what I'd expected. One of the things I found with the Sporty was the great handling compared to the bigger, heavier and bulkier V-Star I had before. I also look for a measure of comfort whichever bike I have and as such equipped the Sporty with a detachablewindshield, highwayfootrests and aSundowner seat. If I want, the shield comes off, the seat comes off (to put the solo on) and the footrest pegs fold-up so I can easily have the more bare bones look quickly. I like the Harley and perhaps will trade it for a larger one sometime but for now the Sporty does fine.

I think some people actually prefer the look of a Sportster-Bagger. I'm not one of them, but they do exist!

I prefer the lean, clean and mean look.
