Default Calling all springer seat owners.

Ok I've been looking into the springer seat option with a metal pan cover thing over the wires which are located under the seat,
Here's my question to all the springer seat owners, do you ride in the rain, I only ask as it looks like with the stock seat removed the top of the battery cover is open to the rain/water getting down on top of the battery and the live battery connection, anyone had problems with that?
Being in the uk I'm riding more in the rain than sun so want to make sure it's not going to cause problems
Cheers guys

OK, I do ride in the rain, but being from Texas and the drought we are having, the answer is definitely not as much as you would. To be honest, I hadn't given it a thought but when I put my seat on I pulled all the connectors off and hardwired everything and used weatherproof connectors, so I could fit my LED equalizer and tail light modulator under the pan as well. I guess if I was that worried about it I would run a weatherstrip around the the base of the pan where it meets the frame and that would help. I really think with you on the bike, the seat pan down tight and everything else in the way, that the water wouldn't get that far into everything and the way the stock setup is done, water can get into a wide variety of openings where electrical wiring is connected. Here's a pic of mine.

It's where the battery cover meets the frame, two plastic clips which hold the battery cover up, that's all open to the weather, the metal pan part under the seat I was going to weather down on the frame with a rubber or foam seal to stop it getting in there.
As for the springer seat and shocks too, I may go down the ridge struts at a later date till then its just extra softness
