Default 2012 Iron 883 and HD Mini Apes

Im curious I just bought some HD Mini Apes for my 2012 Iron and wondering do I really need to also by a cable/wiring kit for these?

I been referred to these but was not sure i needed these:
Burly 12″ Ape Hanger Cable/Brake Kit for Sportster

Pretty damn expensive just for some cables and wires so I am trying to find out if I really need these and or if there is other companies out there at better prices. I don't want a half-*** job done so I am sure a kit is best to buy but 200.00 is a little high priced.

Any help or advice would be great.

You will need cables for the apes, remember you are talking about your brakes and throttle so get quality parts like the burlys. My wifes younger brother got some ebay cheapies and the throttle stuck after accelerating from a light,he swerved to miss a car then took out a pole and was killed last month feb 10th.Not trying to scare anyone but just becareful!Good luck man and ride safe brother.

If your putting the wires inside the bars, DO NOT just push the connectors together and heat shrink like it says to do. SADDER THEM. Unless you want them coming apart inside the bars. Any way there's some good how to videos on you tube. Good luck and post some pic's when done.

I recently purchased the 12" mini ape extended line kit made by Burly, fit perfect and was worth every penny. Found it on ebay for $163 shipped to by door. Depending on how long your stock cables are, you may not need the whole kiit. I only needed the extended clutch cable, and the extended brake line, my throttle cables were plenty long, as was all the stock wiring.

All I did was buy the OEM front brake line for the 72, seeing the 72 uses the chrome HD mini apes. You may need the directional wiring if you haven't relocated the directionals off the handlebars, and the switch wire extensions if your wiring isn't long enough (for some reason I've got an extra 3 feet of wire under the tank on mine)
Reroute the throttle cables and the clutch cable and you should be good to go.
