Default Question about Slip on Mufflers

I am the proud owner of a 2011 883 Super Low. Currently it has the stock mufflers on it. I have been told that there are a few replacement slip ons that I can install that will give better "throaty" sound and that I wont have to have my bike retuned/re-mapped. Does any one have any suggestions about which ones would work. I am not a cheapskate but like most have a fairly tight budget hahahah.

I'm not sure what brand, but it will give it a better sound fo sho! Maybe try to find some slip ons with removable baffles, then you have a couple of options for sound level. I just remembered a few guys running cycle shack slip ons.

I don't know much about these newer bikes, but you might as well get a good flowing air cleaner on it too.

I love my Vance and Hines short shot slip ons. They are about $250, look nice and are really loud. No remap should be required. They have two different baffles you can put in quiet and competition.

For $295 you can have a patriot 2 into 1 shipped to your door. It has an adjustable valve for noise control. It's a very tough pipe to beat on performance too.

I was thinking of doing the same thing for my iron but also was not sure if I needed to remap or change out the air cleaner

I have Straight Shot slip ons from V&h. Love the sound, different baffles available, no tuning/mapping required if your running stock A/c.

If you can find a used set of Screamin Eagle II's they sound great and perform very well (not the same as the new style street legal Screamin Eagle Street Performance), if not, the Cycle Shack slip on's have a good reputation for a reasonable price.
As stated above if all you do is slip on's there is no need for a tuner, that can come later when your ready to do the air cleaner.

Congrats on your new to you Ride!

Here is a video on the lowest budget option-

Here is another option with the Cycle Shacks and Thunder Torque Inserts

Another, even deeper tone way to go is with the Rush slip-on combined with the Thunder Torques.

We have yet to see an exhaust system that did not sound deeper, And produce more power with the Thunder Torques installed.

You will not need to retune/remap if just changing the slip-ons, however, you will notice a nice performance increase with the use of the X14iED's.

Details HERE.
