Default Passenger seat with OEM solo seat?

Anyone use a passenger seat with the OEM solo seat?
Is it comfortable?
Any info..
I would rather not switch to a 2-up seat. I like my solo seat, its very comfortable for me, and i wont be riding 2-up all the time.

Look on Craigslist and buy a 2 up when u carry a passenger. Easy to swap out. I think a pass seat with a solo isn't going to work too well.

You're allowed to have as many seats as you like! Buy a big fat comfy touring seat if your passenger is your favourite person, make sure she is as comfy as possible.

I got one of these when I bought my Iron.

Took the girlfriend and another friend for a spin. Both hated it and complained after about 10 minutes. It looks cushy but apparently it just sinks and felt like they were sitting on the fender.

Ending up finding a second hand sundowner, problem solved.

Plus with the way the passenger seat attaches to the solo (time consuming) its actually quicker just to swap the full seats. Just switch when you need to.

Don't they make an pillion pad for the passenger? I've got one on my '91 that I got from Harley when I bought it. Looks like a loaf of black bread on top of the fender, but I'm not the one sitting on it.

Seats get plenty of discussion in here, if you care to search. Mustang do a wide touring seat that is also popular and there is a dealer on Ebay sells them at attractive discounts.

John
Would you sit on it and has anyone ever travelled further than round the block sitting on it?!

I have the HD passenger seat. I keep it attached to my stock Nightster solo seat as a unit and when I want to ride 2 up I swap that out with my mother road custom solo seat. My wife is fine with the comfort level on the 2 hr + rides we occasionally do. Unless you plan on doing a lot of 2 up touring there is no need to buy a touring seat. The passenger seat attaches in about 2 minutes. Get the HD quick detach sissy bar and your wife/gf will be fine with the occasional ride.

Like others here, I've got the mustang wide solo touring seat for riding solo, and bought the passenger pad for the OEM seat, and just swap the two out when doing trips with the girlfriend or one of my daughters.

Later this spring, I'm going to get the mustang detachable passenger seat to hook to my solo seat, this way I can leave the solo seat alone, and just pop the passenger pad on when I need it.

Btw the comments I have gotten about the stock passenger pad, well let's just say I'm buying a mustang seat to keep the peace.....
