Default oil tank drain hose leaking

92 Sporty. I replaced the oil tank drain hose, but it keeps seeping oil where it attaches to the fitting at the tank. I used 1/2" ID oil line. First I used one hose clamp, the I double clamped it. Any ideas to stop it? Thanks.

1/2" ID sounds big to me. It should be a tight fit when you push it on the tank fitting, was it? The hose clamp is only insurance, you only need one, not two. If the hose is a sloppy fit you will never stop it leaking and need to fit the correct size hose.

I believe that the drain hose is 11/32" ID, - which is 5/32" smaller than 1/2" ID, so that may be the problem. Locate the proper sized/rated hose, clean the male end at the tank squeakie clean and install one worm gear hose clamp and that should do the trick.

My 1991 drain hose is an L shape. I have heard that the replacement from harley is simply a straight piece of hose. Seems to me you'd end up with a kink at the bend when you try to attach to drain plug fitting. Good luck and let us know how you fixed it.
