Default Need New Exhaust: 1989 XLH

So I'm in need of some new exhaust for my 1989 XLH. It is the middle of build mode; 1250 kit, head work, Andrews V4 Cams, etc. and it needs some new exhaust that can bring out the true performance. So far the main one of my mind are the V&H Straightshot HS Slip-Ons, but I still have yet to confirm if they use a 1-3/4" Inlet and what the overall length is for them (need to know if the stock exhaust header w/ crossover will work). Other than those, I can always get a set of SEII Slip-Ons, but I was looking for something better. Not a fan of the thunderheaders or cycle shack stuff. Looking for a nice rumble and no metallic sound but also performance based.

Anyone have some opinions or more options?

I think Rush brand is another popular slip on option. Be sure to email these companies and ask them before you buy. They all have customer service or contact points.

I've got first generation (?) SE slipons on my '91, some folks say they are better, maybe you can pick up some on Ebay.

IMHO, you will have a hard time beating a good 2-1 pipe for sound and performance. I like the Supertrapp - as it's tunable. I suspect that the folks who sold you the big-bore kit have some dyno charts of similarly configured engines and a variety of pipes that'll help you make your decision.
